  What do you think? Should chimpanzees be granted 'personhood'?

  there's a current court case in ny which is hearing that question right now.

  the precise issue is the continued captivity of two chimpanzees, (leo and hercules, names bestowed by humans) in a medical research laboratory at stony brook university.. i suggest that the application has some merit.

  are not all of us "animals?

  All for show: I personally know of an elder with the same situation. Pioneer, uses his daily commute (public transportation) as daily F.S time, just because he give out publications to fellow commuters.

  Just think of how much literature he's gonna put down on that timesheet and feel so proud of himself.

  That's gonna land him a leadership position and loads of interviews to share his "zeal".

  i have very recently come out of a bout of severe depression which lasted for years.

  i have ginormous underlying issues which i hardly talk about, especially to my family.. today my sister came in, wanting to force me to do something she wanted.

  her strategy was to make me feel bad for feeling bad, just to show me that my problem (which she has no idea of but thinks she does) wasn't the biggest in the world.

  confuzzlediam someone to listen to her, not to tell her to just get over it.

  True words. In my family, not only will they tell you to just get over it, they even tell you HOW to: yesterday she said I should get up and clean my house as her acquaintance does.

  This means, if I don't do exactly what she suggested, I'm refusing help and being complacent and wanting to remain in the same situation.

  Mind you, she's also subject to severe clinical depression but would never lift a finger to do anything...this is just a pattern of doing this in my family.

  Btw, I'm sure this brother is a pioneer or pioneering at this moment. He, like many of his fellow good boys and gals are pulling a fast one on the org.

  If you've been wondering how those millions of hours are made. Counting your working time as F.S. time is part of the answer.

  ToesUp He probably counted your total time in his taxi a time for the month.

  
  I thought the same thing! But I forgot to say it in my OP.

  Also given the stack of mags (at least 50-70 in there) he had on his board, he's gonna do the same thing to other clients and count the time he's driving his taxi as FS time.

  I may be wrong, but looking at how it went, I extra sure of that.

  Morpheus Perhaps the company he drives for would like to know he is proselytizing while working....

  No way, Morpheus. Where I live, taxis are freelance. People own and drive their taxis themselves or give out to a driver. Company taxis are non existent.

  Great advice and opinions, folks.

  A financial problem can be pretty dramatic but temporary.

  Psychological troubles are deep rooted and affect a huge chunk of someone's life: childhood, adulthood and beyond.

  People die of health problems. Mental illnesses send to an early grave too.
